Information on Personalised Products
Almost everything we make only comes into being through the details you give us: your names, your date, your venue, your wording. That is exactly what makes a personalised product special – and exactly why different rules apply to it than to off-the-shelf goods. On this page we explain, step by step, how personalisation works, up to what point you can still change something, what you are responsible for yourselves, why the finished piece can differ from what you see on screen, and what all of this means for your right of withdrawal and your statutory warranty rights (Gewährleistung). We have deliberately kept this matter-of-fact: you should know what you are getting into before you place an order.
Which products this information applies to
This information applies to our personalised wedding stationery and wedding décor, which includes the acrylic welcome sign, the table stationery set, the personalised ring box, the vow books, the guest book with keepsake box, the name cards used as guest favours, the QR code stands and the save-the-date magnets.
We manufacture using three processes only: high-quality paper printing, direct UV printing onto blanks purchased from suppliers, and 3D printing.
Please note: our product pages are purely informational. They contain no prices, no delivery times, no availability information and no reviews. The only configurator through which you can currently order directly is the welcome sign in the wedding section. For all other products, the product pages provide information only; ordering via a configurator is not currently possible there.
We deliver exclusively to delivery addresses in Austria and Germany. You can order from us regardless of where you live, but the delivery address must be located in one of these two countries.
The seller is an Austrian sole proprietorship (Einzelunternehmen) based in Graz, Austria (full contact details are at the end of this page). Austrian law applies, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of mandatory protections granted by the law of the country of their habitual residence.
What "personalised" means here
For us, personalised means that your individual details are permanently worked into the product – printed, applied by direct UV printing, or produced as a 3D print. Typically these are your names, your wedding date, your venue or location, or text you have written yourselves.
An item made in this way is a one-off. Once it has been produced, it cannot be sold on to anyone else, returned to stock or reused.
This is to be distinguished from merely choosing between predefined standard options, for instance where you only select from ready-made design directions, formats or colour variants without any details of your own being printed. This distinction is not word-play – it decides whether or not the 14-day right of withdrawal applies to an item. We return to this in the section on the right of withdrawal.
The process: from design to production
1. Choose a design direction. In the configurator you decide on the basic design direction for your product.
2. Enter your details. You enter your individual data, for example your names, your date and your location.
3. Check the preview. The configurator shows your entries in the design you have chosen. This preview is an on-screen representation: it shows you spelling, text content and arrangement, but can reproduce colour tones, proportions and the impression of the material only approximately.
4. Order summary and release. Before you submit, you see the summary with your details and the total price. All prices are gross prices in euro and include 20% Austrian value added tax (Umsatzsteuer – Austrian VAT). By submitting the order with an obligation to pay, you release precisely these details for production.
5. Payment. For payment you are redirected to the checkout page hosted by Stripe at checkout.stripe.com. Payment is made by credit card; providing the billing address is mandatory. You enter your payment data directly with Stripe, not with us.
6. Production. Manufacturing only begins once payment has been received.
A note on the current status: our ordering and payment system is currently running in test mode. No real payments are being processed yet, and no orders are actually being put into production yet.
Check and correct before you order
The most important moment is the last look before you submit. Until you send off the order with an obligation to pay, you can change your entries in the configurator and correct input errors.
Please take your time and deliberately check:
- the spelling of both names, including double-barrelled names, hyphens, umlauts and accents - the date in the notation you want - place names and all freely entered text, word for word - capitalisation and spacing, because we typeset exactly as you enter it
It is best to read the preview out loud or to have a second person look over it. Experience shows that people spell out their own names one more time least often – and that is precisely where typos stand out most once the sign is hanging on the wall.
Release for production and the point from which no changes are possible
By submitting the order with an obligation to pay, you declare that exactly the details displayed in the order summary are to be manufactured. That is your release for production.
After that, making changes is no longer part of the ordering process. If you notice something after submitting, please contact us immediately by e-mail or telephone and quote your order details. As long as production has not yet begun, we will make an effort to take a correction into account. This is a voluntary accommodation on our part and not a claim you have against us; your statutory rights remain unaffected by it.
Once production has begun, changes are no longer possible. A personalised piece is created in a single run – once the print or the 3D print has been carried out, it cannot be undone.
Production begins after payment has been received. We cannot give a general assurance as to how much time will pass between your payment and the actual start of production. Please therefore assume that your window for changes is short, and do not wait until the next day.
Your responsibility for the details you release
We manufacture exactly what you have entered and released. We do not check the content of your details and do not correct them on our own initiative – not even if a spelling looks unusual. A name can legitimately be written "Mayr", "Maier" or "Meier", and only you know which is correct.
This means: a typo or an incorrect date in the details you released is not a defect in the product (not a lack of conformity). In that case we have delivered in conformity with the contract. If you nevertheless want the piece with the correct wording, a new, chargeable order is required.
The reverse is just as clear: if we fail to reproduce the details you released correctly, or if the product has a manufacturing fault, that is our responsibility. In that case your statutory warranty rights (Gewährleistung) apply (see below).
If you provide details about other people – for example the names of your guests for name cards – please only provide data you are permitted to pass on, and no content in which third parties hold rights that would prevent such use.
Screen display, AI mood images and the finished product
There can be differences between what you see on screen and the piece you later hold in your hands. There are three reasons for this, and we name them openly:
First, the screen display. Monitors, tablets and smartphones reproduce colours differently – depending on calibration, brightness, display technology and ambient light. A colour tone can look warmer on a phone than on a laptop. What is binding is the product description and the details you entered, not the exact colour impression on your screen.
Second, the product images. The images on our product pages are AI-generated mood images and are labelled as such. They show the style and overall feel, not the specific item that will be made for you. Lettering, props, decoration and surroundings shown in these images are not part of what is delivered.
Third, material and manufacturing. With paper printing, deviations in colour and surface can occur. For direct UV printing we work on blanks purchased from suppliers, which can differ slightly from one another due to material, cutting and production batch, for example in degree of gloss, edge appearance or material texture. With 3D printing, the layer-by-layer manufacturing can be visible or perceptible to the touch.
Such manufacturing- and material-related deviations are possible. They do not restrict your rights: whether a deviation constitutes a defect is determined solely by the statutory requirements of the Verbrauchergewährleistungsgesetz (VGG – the Austrian Consumer Warranty Act) and not by this page. If something is not right for you, simply get in touch with us.
Personalisation and the right of withdrawal (§ 18 para. 1 no. 3 FAGG)
For orders placed by distance selling, you as consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason (§ 11 FAGG – Fern- und Auswärtsgeschäfte-Gesetz, the Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Transactions Act).
There is a statutory exception to this right of withdrawal: for goods that are made to the customer's specifications or are clearly personalised to individual requirements, there is no right of withdrawal (§ 18 para. 1 no. 3 FAGG). A welcome sign bearing your names and your wedding date is such an item: it is created exclusively for you and is not usable by anyone else. According to the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (Europäischer Gerichtshof/EuGH; judgment of 21 October 2020, C-529/19, Möbel Kraft), this exception applies from the outset – irrespective of whether we have already started production.
However, this exception does not apply across the board to our entire range; it applies only to items into which your individual details are worked. Should we in future also offer non-personalised goods into which no individual details of yours are worked, the full 14-day right of withdrawal would apply to those; should an order ever contain both, the distinction would be made on an item-by-item basis.
The statutory exclusion of the right of withdrawal applies only if we expressly informed you of it before your order; if that information is missing, your right of withdrawal remains in place and is extended in accordance with § 12 FAGG. You will find the complete withdrawal instructions and the model withdrawal form pursuant to Annex I to the FAGG in our withdrawal instructions (Rücktrittsbelehrung).
Statutory warranty (Gewährleistung): nothing is excluded here
The right of withdrawal and the statutory warranty are two different things. The right of withdrawal allows you to release yourselves from the contract without giving a reason. The statutory warranty applies where something is wrong with the product.
As regards the statutory warranty: we are liable to you for two years from handover for defects that already existed at the time of handover (§ 10 VGG). During the first year after handover, it is presumed in your favour – so the burden of proof lies with us – that a defect which has appeared already existed at handover (§ 11 VGG). After the warranty period has expired, the additional three-month limitation period under § 28 VGG is available to you for asserting your claim.
The order of remedies is prescribed by law: first repair or replacement, and thereafter price reduction or rescission of the contract.
Important, and stated expressly: the fact that a product is personalised does not change your statutory warranty rights in any way. Any shortening or exclusion of those rights, or any obligation on you to notify defects within a fixed period (Rügefrist) to your detriment, would be invalid as against consumers, and we do not invoke anything of that kind either. Please simply get in touch as soon as you notice something – the sooner we know, the easier it is to resolve.
If we go beyond this and accommodate you voluntarily on a particular occasion, that is a goodwill gesture (Kulanz). It does not replace your statutory rights and does not restrict them.
What happens to your personalisation data
The details you enter in the configurator – your names, your date, your location, your texts and, where applicable, details about your guests – are processed by us exclusively in order to manufacture your product and to process your order. The legal basis is performance of the contract with you pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (DSGVO); we do not use this data for any other purposes (Art. 5(1)(b) GDPR).
We neither enter nor see your payment data: payment runs via the checkout page hosted by Stripe, where you enter your card details directly with Stripe.
What other data we process, who receives it, how long we store it and what rights you have – access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection and the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) – is set out in our privacy policy (Art. 13 GDPR).
